This older home had good bones – but the main rooms in the home were cut off from each other and didn’t allow for gathering with friends and family. As part of this project, we opened up the wall between the kitchen and living room, allowing for a large new island perfect for talking while cooking. The kitchen is now a functional and enjoyable space to cook. The large windows in the kitchen add an airy brightness to the whole living area now, making it a central living space for a modern family.
As part of reimagining this home, we also reorganized the existing restrooms to create a luxurious master bath, as well as a powder room located off the hallway. The new master bath has both a large walk in Euro-style shower and a luxurious soaking tub, perfect for a retreat after a busy day. This lovely old house has a second life (and as a sustainable bonus – often the best thing you can do for the environment is re-use what is already there).
